Just imagine. You submitted your MBA applications nearly three months ago, had an interview last month, and have been waiting – very impatiently – since then to learn if you’ve been admitted to your dream b-school. Finally, after what feels like an eternity, notification day arrives.

You awake at sunrise after a very restless night’s sleep. You immediately click on the school’s website to see if there’s any news or updates about admissions. You keep your phone within arm’s reach, ready to answer on the first ring. You check your email inbox every five minutes, then every three minutes, “just in case.” Then, just before noon, it finally happens. It’s official. You’ve been admitted!

For the benefit of individuals who have not yet applied to business school, The MBA Exchange wants to summarize some of the most common realizations, emotions and reflections that more than 5,000 past clients have shared with us over the past three decades.

“Getting accepted by my dream business school makes me feel….”

  • Gratified that my hard work at college, in the community, and on the job is recognized.
  • Grateful for all the sacrifices my family made to help me reach this milestone.
  • Overjoyed to share this wonderful news with my friends, mentors and associates.
  • Awed to join a network of such accomplished classmates, faculty and alumni.
  • Eager to stretch my intellect and confront the gaps in my skills and knowledge.
  • Humbled to add such a well-known, highly respected, prestigious brand to my profile.
  • Liberated to leave my current job and transition to an industry and role I truly love.
  • Ready to open the door, raise the floor, and shatter the ceiling on my future.
  • Thrilled about meeting new people and making friendships that will last a lifetime.
  • Excited to learn first-hand about places and cultures that are so different than mine.

If any of these thoughts and feelings resonate, and make you wonder about the potential impact on your life, then applying to business school is not just something you should do – it’s something you must do. The ideal way to start is by getting a free, expert evaluation of your MBA candidacy.
