Before we dive into strategy, we start with a deep-dive questionnaire—designed to uncover not just the obvious, but the hidden strengths, motivations, and defining stories that set you apart.
Our approach goes beyond surface-level facts. We explore your passions, personal traits, key strengths, and even weaknesses—helping us craft a powerful, differentiated brand that resonates with top MBA programs.
Our proven 6 Pillars™ methodology is woven into this process, ensuring we extract the insights that will make your application stand out.
|
|||
|
Your responses go through a strategic deep dive using our proprietary 6 Pillars™ MBA admissions framework—a proven method for crafting standout applications.
This is where we identify key strengths, refine your MBA application narrative, and build a winning strategy. Every successful application starts with a clear positioning strategy—this phase ensures yours is bulletproof.
|
|||
|
This session is the critical second phase of our Competitive Edge Positioning process. In a deep-dive strategy call, we analyze your background, goals, and key differentiators to craft a clear, compelling MBA application angle.
Through expert guidance and exploratory dialogue, we pinpoint the most strategic positioning approach—ensuring your application stands out to top MBA programs.

A fresh perspective from an M7 admissions insider can be a beneficial supplement to your strategy. Our proprietary methodology replicates how top MBA programs evaluate candidates—offering you a real, unfiltered admissions-style assessment.
You’ll respond to a structured set of questions on video, just as every client does. Then, an experienced M7 alum—often with industry expertise—serves as the “Auditor” to review your responses, analyze your profile, and score you as an admissions committee member would.
This expert assessment is then shared with your lead consultant, who collaborates with the Auditor to refine your application strategy, positioning, and final narrative—ensuring you present the strongest possible case to top business schools.

While strategy sets the foundation, the Essay Development phase is where applications take shape. Through multiple rounds of expert analysis and feedback, we refine raw essays into compelling, authentic, and submission-ready narratives.
Our approach focuses on two critical dimensions:
|
|||
|
An exclusive feature from MBA Exchange Labs, this simulation provides a real-world admissions-style review before finalizing your MBA application.
After completing the Discovery Process and drafting your core essays, we assemble a hand-selected committee of three experienced reviewers—often former M7 AdCom members, MBB veterans, or industry experts—to evaluate your “final application.” This review includes:
For maximum objectivity, the internal discussion remains confidential. This high-impact simulation is available for the first application at the Platinum Level. |
|||
|
For multi-school campaigns at the Platinum Level, we bring in a Blind Reviewer—a second expert consultant—who provides an objective, admissions-style evaluation of your MBA essays.
This review follows a high-impact methodology: the Blind Reviewer assesses your application under the assumption that it has been rejected—then determines why. Their job is to identify potential weaknesses, gaps, or missed opportunities that could impact your MBA admissions success. By approaching the application from this perspective, the Blind Reviewer delivers:
This early intervention strategy ensures your application is optimized before submission—maximizing your chances at top business schools. |

Your resume for job hunting isn’t the same as your business school resume—it needs to tell a different story, with a sharper focus on leadership, impact, and potential.
We refine this document over two rounds of expert feedback, ensuring it highlights the right themes and aligns with your overall MBA application strategy. When done correctly, your resume becomes more than a list of achievements—it serves as a roadmap for your essays, recommendations, and interview narrative. Think of it as revealing “the things in between the lines of your resume bullets.” |
|||
|
We provide guidance on choosing recommenders, as well as strategies for approaching and soliciting recommendations effectively. If recommenders are open to feedback, we offer high-level guidance to clients and, when appropriate, directly to the recommenders. The preferences of the recommenders are critical, and we only provide feedback with proper consent.
This support includes up to two rounds of light-touch feedback for two recommenders. |
|||
|
We help prepare clients through one or two sessions, depending on experience level and preference. We begin cold—on purpose—with a Mini-Mock Interview, followed by tailored preparation tactics, key considerations, and a review of commonly asked questions. The strongest lessons often come from this “cold call”-inspired step.
A second meeting includes a formal Mock Interview with targeted feedback. Clients also receive unlimited access to an online tool with a curated bank of practice questions, built from years of experience and insights from past clients and former M7 admissions committee members. |
|||
|
In addition to the Standard Interview Prep process, we include one additional Blind Interview conducted by a second expert who has no prior history or details about the client. This simulates a truly unbiased interview experience.
In this scenario, the Blind Interviewer provides objective internal feedback on the client’s performance and profile strength. The Premium Interview Prep process begins with this Blind Interview, followed by a structured review session where the feedback serves as a roadmap for improvement. This ensures the subsequent Mock Interview with the primary consultant is highly targeted and effective. |
|||
|
After decisions are rendered, we offer an additional strategy session for clients deciding between multiple admits. This session provides expert guidance on evaluating offers, weighing deferral options, and making the best long-term choice.
|
|||
|
For clients placed on a waitlist, we provide strategic guidance on next steps, including when and how to submit a “Letter of Continued Interest” (or an equivalent update). This support includes up to two rounds of targeted feedback to refine messaging and maximize impact.

FAQ
Questions about our MBA Pricing.
We offer two primary categories of service, structured around where you are in your timeline and what your candidacy requires.
The first is Application Consulting, designed for candidates applying in an upcoming round. These engagements cover the full arc of the process: Six Pillars™ diagnostic and competitive positioning, strategic planning, essay development through our outline-to-narrative methodology, and execution through submission. We offer three tiers—Silver, Gold, and Platinum—priced according to the number of schools supported. A single-school Silver engagement begins at $3,950; a seven-school Platinum engagement is $19,250. The tiers differ in the depth and breadth of review applied to the candidacy, with Platinum including additional mechanisms such as the Admissions Committee Simulator and Blind Peer Review.
The second category consists of a la carte services for candidates who need targeted support rather than a comprehensive engagement. These include standalone Discovery and Competitive Edge Positioning, resume development, recommendation strategy, interview preparation at standard and premium levels, waitlist coaching, and application review. Each is priced individually and can be combined as appropriate.
Full pricing details, including a comparison of all three tiers, are available on our MBA pricing page. The consultation call is the appropriate forum to determine which structure best aligns with your goals and timeline.
Our pricing reflects how the work is staffed and delivered, and we do not routinely offer installment plans as a default. If circumstances require it, where a genuine timing or logistical constraint exists, we are open to a direct conversation about whether an accommodation is workable. We value clarity on both sides.
They are distinct offerings designed for different circumstances.
A comprehensive package covers the full arc of an MBA application: Discovery and Competitive Edge Positioning through the Six Pillars™ framework, strategic planning, and complete essay development for every school on your list. You work with a lead consultant who owns strategy and positioning throughout, supported by a dedicated essay specialist for sentence-level refinement. The Silver, Gold, and Platinum tiers differ in the depth of additional review, with Gold adding mechanisms such as the M7 Insider Audit and Platinum adding the Admissions Committee Simulator and Blind Peer Review.
A la carte services are designed for candidates with a specific, bounded need. These may include a standalone strategic diagnostic, interview preparation, post-denial analysis, or targeted review of application materials. Each service is priced individually and can be combined as appropriate, but they do not include the integrated, end-to-end oversight of a comprehensive engagement.
The distinction is important. Admissions at the highest level is a systems problem, not a series of independent tasks. A strong essay built on weak positioning remains a weak application. Comprehensive engagements ensure strategic alignment from initial diagnosis through submission. A la carte services are effective for targeted needs, but they are not a substitute for that alignment.
It depends on who you are comparing us to—and what you believe you are paying for.
Some firms charge significantly more. Whether they deliver more is a separate question. In many cases, premium pricing reflects brand legacy, operational overhead, or the reassurance of an ultra-high price point rather than a materially different level of consulting. Many of the most expensive firms also quietly limit their client base to already highly competitive candidates, then market success rates built on that filtering.
Other firms charge less. Some deliver real value at a lower price; others make trade-offs in consultant caliber, methodological rigor, or the amount of individualized attention each candidate receives. The relevant comparison is not price in isolation, but what that price purchases: the experience and selectivity of the team, the depth of the diagnostic process, the number of review cycles, and whether the engagement is genuinely tailored or largely templated.
Our pricing reflects the quality of the work we deliver and the professionals who deliver it. We are explicit about what each tier includes and avoid structures that obscure the true cost of the engagement. The consultation call is the appropriate forum to assess whether the investment aligns with your goals and circumstances.
No. Our packages are designed to cover the full scope of work most candidates require, and we structure them that way intentionally. Your consultant’s focus should be on strengthening the application, not on managing incremental charges.
There are two exceptions. The first is rush work. When timelines compress beyond what the standard process allows, maintaining quality requires reallocating consultant capacity; rush support is available, priced separately, and discussed in advance. The second is CounterCheck™, our optional background verification service for candidates who want to identify and address potential inconsistencies before submission. Neither is hidden, and both are disclosed prior to any commitment.
Yes. This is more common than many candidates expect.
Clients often begin with a defined scope and then, after the initial strategic work, recognize that the competitive landscape is more complex than anticipated, that additional schools merit consideration, or that deeper support would materially strengthen the outcome. That reassessment is a natural consequence of clearer diagnosis, not a sign that the original decision was misguided.
Upgrades are straightforward. Clients may move between tiers or add schools mid-engagement. Pricing adjustments reflect only the incremental scope, and transitions are managed to preserve strategic continuity.
We offer an initial grace period at the start of every engagement. During that window, clients may adjust scope, change service levels, or cancel for any reason. This is intentional: the commitment should be made with clarity rather than momentum.
After the grace period, we do not offer refunds. By that point, consultant and essay-specialist capacity has been formally allocated to the engagement. We operate as a boutique firm and do not overbook; when capacity is reserved, it is no longer available to other candidates. This policy is applied consistently and reviewed transparently prior to enrollment.
For application packages, the engagement is round-specific. Your package covers the schools and rounds defined at enrollment, and the work is completed within that application cycle.
For a la carte or supplemental services, usage terms are set at the time of purchase and communicated clearly. We do not offer open-ended, indefinite engagements. In our experience, work without a defined timeline loses focus, and unfocused work benefits no one. Within the agreed period, pacing is flexible and coordinated with your consultant to fit your circumstances.
In most cases, yes—within practical constraints.
If you are mid-engagement and determine that a given round is no longer realistic, shifting to a later round is a conversation we are prepared to have. Timelines change for legitimate reasons, including test retakes, professional demands, or personal circumstances. We would rather recalibrate toward a realistic deadline than rush a submission that does not reflect your candidacy at its strongest.
What we cannot guarantee is identical consultant availability in a later round. Our consultants manage defined rosters each cycle. Raising a potential deferral early maximizes the likelihood of maintaining continuity with your assigned team and allows for effective planning.
Not always. We believe that clarity is more useful than a reflexive sales pitch.
If your profile is straightforward—strong test scores, a clean career trajectory, a coherent narrative, and a manageable school list—you may not need a comprehensive engagement. In those cases, a targeted a la carte session to pressure-test positioning or review essays may be sufficient, and we would rather you allocate resources where they add the most value.
Consulting earns its value when the margin for error is narrow and the strategic complexity is real. You may be competing within an overrepresented demographic, navigating a non-linear career path, or targeting programs where subtle positioning decisions materially affect outcomes. In those situations, the Six Pillars™ diagnostic, the structured development process, and the judgment of a consultant who has guided thousands of candidates produce applications that are meaningfully stronger than most candidates can build on their own.
The consultation call exists to help you make this determination candidly. We will recommend the level of engagement your situation warrants—including, when appropriate, none at all.
