Why is sooner is better than later when pursuing business school admission?

In Part 1 of this blog series, we focused on: “Why some people wait to start their business school admissions campaign.” In this post, we’re going to examine the reasons why allowing yourself more time is better than less time.

The most important point to keep in mind is that the MBA application process is about much more than just “writing an application.” Focusing on the underlying candidacy must come first. Optimizing your professional, academic and personal profile is essential – and can require time to explain, add or repair certain aspects.

Also, in most cases, submitting a strong application in Round 1 is better than waiting until later rounds to:

• Convey a sense of confidence and urgency. Adcoms like to see proactivity vs. reactivity.

• Not incur the competition from waitlisted applicants from prior rounds who could reduce your chances for success if you apply in a later round.

• Receive your admissions decision sooner so you can start making plans accordingly.

• Allow yourself the option to submit in Round 2 should something unexpected delay your application. You never know what might come up during the month or two that could force you to apply in Round 2.

So, are you beginning to see why you should launch your admissions campaign now? Start now with a free evaluation of your candidacy here!
